THE REASON…

I have a good friend, J, who is leaving her husband after seven years of mental and emotional abuse. She has the support of her friends and family, but not her ex-husband, B.

J is tired and scared. She’s gotten away from B with Tumblr’s help, but he has broken into her house, stolen numbers from her phone, and called them to threaten people. He has discovered this blog and frequently sends anonymous asks like this to try to stop us fundraising:

The primary purpose of this fundraiser: J needs to raise funds for her legal fees as she pursues a divorce. Also, if B decides to try to get custody of their son, she will need all the help she can get to enforce a custody agreement.

We’ve set a fundraising goal of $1,000. The more we raise, the more chance J and her son will be safe. Even a couple of dollars will help us reach this goal.

Followers, J is my friend, and she’s having a real tough time. B and his friends/family/supporters just will not leave her be. They’ve harassed the KeepJSafe blog (as shown above) as well left threatening messages to anyone they presume to admin said blog (such as »here«). They have threatened to sue J for kidnapping if she decides to seek custody or leave the area, they have threatened to sue her (and the KeepJSafe blog admins) for fraud, embezzlement [though I’m not entirely sure if they know what that word means >_>], and slander [though I’m not entirely sure if they know what that word means either].

J wants none of that. She just wants to get this divorce done and over with, get help with enforcing a custody agreement (if any), and get B and his fellows out of her life.

Please help! Donations are very welcome, and if you have anything you can offer to help raise money - art, fic, physical items - contact the KeepJSafe tumblr to contribute! And if you can’t do any of that, please follow the KeepJSafe tumblr and reblog this as often as you can.
